Monica Sykes brings a rare, well-rounded perspective to real estate: more than 25 years as a licensed Florida real estate professional, former experience as a licensed loan originator, and a career as a bank auditor specializing in mortgage servicing, foreclosure, and REO operations.

Early in her real estate career, Monica trained alongside top-producing agents and managed investment and rental properties, building a hands-on understanding of property performance, tenant relationships, and what makes a property valuable to both owners and buyers. She also previously held a loan originator license, giving her firsthand experience with the mortgage process from the lending side — how loans are structured, underwritten, and approved.

In parallel, Monica built a 30-year career in internal audit and risk management, including time as a senior internal auditor at a major mortgage servicing bank, where she audited bankruptcy, foreclosure, and REO operations. That experience gave her an inside view of the mortgage lifecycle — how loans move into default, how distressed properties are valued and processed, and where the risks and opportunities lie for buyers and sellers. She went on to hold senior audit and compliance leadership roles at companies including Elevance Health (Anthem) and Johns Hopkins, and holds the CIA, CFSA, and CRMA designations.
